Elias Obenyah, a Salesian College Preparatory basketball standout described as among the top guards in Northern California, has committed to playing for Stanford University next year, according to 247Sports.
Obenyah is a 6’5″ four-star prospect who selected Stanford over a number of other schools including California, San Diego State, Saint Mary’s, and UC San Diego, states 247Sports. He told the publication that he and his parents were impressed with how Stanford demands the best from their players “both in basketball as well as education.”
“During the visit, I found that Stanford has a steady culture, and I think that is very similar to the situation I’m in now with Salesian,” Obenyah told 247Sports, adding that he aims to bring leadership and versatility to the program.
The site @league.ready says Obenyah provides “great pace and feel on the offensive end. A strong creator who can also get his own shot and fill it up in a hurry.”
