The Contra Costa County Library is introducing a new mascot named Roxy the Fox to join its Rolling Reader literacy van.
Roxy will travel across the county to help children discover the joy of books and encourage them to sign up for their own library cards.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Roxy to our library family,” said County Librarian Alison McKee. “Early literacy is the foundation of a child’s educational journey, and Roxy brings a wonderful, approachable sense of joy and adventure to reading.”

Families can meet Roxy for the first time on Thursday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m. during a special event at the Concord Library. The debut will include stories and songs to welcome the mascot to the community. To see more about the character and her mission, the public can view a video on the library’s YouTube channel.
