There’s a small but mighty eatery on San Pablo Avenue in Richmond powered by three sisters. And if you stop by 3 Hermanas (a.k.a. Tres Hermanas), you’re sure to enjoy some delightful Mexican home cooking any time of day.

Nancy, Maria and Susana Subias have been cooking up Mexican favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the last decade from their lovely blue oasis sandwiched in near the corner of San Pablo and Solano Avenues.

On a recent visit, one of the sisters, Susana, shared some of their customers’ favorite orders: Menudo, spicy beef soup with hominy and tortilla; the Quesadiles de Huitlacoche Plate, a large fresh tortilla filled with cheese and huitlacoche and served with sides of Mexican rice, beans and salad; and the Mole Guanajuatence, mild red mole sauce covered chicken served with Mexican rice, beans and a tortilla.

The Richmond eatery also has a variety of selections for breakfast, including Huevos Rancheros, Revueltos, a Breakfast Burrito and more. A children’s menu and seafood are also offered, while an attractively decorated dining area is available to enjoy your meal.

If you’re hungry, chances are they’re open, putting in hours that see them opening up the eatery at 8 a.m. and closing 7 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday 3 Hermanas closes at 4 p.m.
