One of Richmond’s newest police officers is credited with a traffic stop drug bust that seized over 800 grams of cannabis, 1,000 pills of ecstasy, morphine and oxycodone and $4,400 in cash hidden throughout the vehicle.
The incident occurred Wednesday when officer-in-training Nicholas Okodogbe stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Marina Bay Parkway and Foothill Avenue, according to the Richmond Police Department. When he contacted the driver, the officer smelled cannabis emanating from the vehicle and also saw two cannabis smoking pipes in plain sight on the center consol.
The discoveries led to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of the narcotics and cash, police said.
