Just Imagine KidZ, a local nonprofit run by Tamara Shiloh, is holding its inaugural fundraiser, “Tacos & Tequila,” Sunday, Sept. 8 from 2-6 p.m. at the Multicultural Book Store & Gifts behind the Bay Area Girls Club, 260 Broadway in Richmond.
The Richmond nonprofit offers after-school and summer programs for students and curriculum for teachers focused on Black History and Hispanic/Latinx History.
The outdoor fundraiser will include tasty tacos and fully-loaded nachos prepared by Tanisha Brandy Cole, and tastings arranged by Tequila Sommelier Edgar Lopez of All Agave and Beyond. Wine will also be available for $10 and shots for $15. Tickets for the event in support of the Richmond nonprofit are $75 per person if purchased on/before Sept. 1, 2024 and $80 after that date and at the gate.
“Join us for an afternoon of culinary delight and a whole lotta dance,” said Shiloh, the executive director of Just Imagine KidZ.
Award-winning musician Andre Thierry will electrify the afternoon with his feel-good accordion soul music, while a variety of prizes will be raffled off along the way, courtesy of the nonprofit’s Board of Directors.
All proceeds will benefit Just Imagine KidZ programs. Again, to reserve tickets, click here or contact Tamara Shiloh at [email protected].
