Owners of Richmond Pizza House have opened a second location in Pinole, fittingly called Pinole Pizza House.
Co-owners and brothers Zach and Jay Qassas said they wanted to bring their pizza parlor closer to devoted customers in the cities of Pinole, Hercules and El Sobrante.
“Many of our customers come from other towns locally here in West County,” Zach Qassas said.
The Standard visited about a week after the pizza restaurant’s Pinole opening. The stream of customers entering the new business appeared to validate the brothers’ prediction that a Pinole location would be successful.
They come for the food, of course, and also the friendly service.
“Pinole is a tight community, and the word got out pretty quick that we had opened up out here,” Zach said.
Zach said it couldn’t be possible without quality pizzas, salads and other specialty items. Some of the restaurant’s popular pizzas are the House Combo, Mediterranean Delight, Chicken Pesto, Jay’s Special, California Veggie and the Sausage Lovers.
While striving for quality and consistency, the brothers say they work hard to keep the prices reasonable.
“The business plan we used in Richmond is the same formula we use here at Pinole Pizza House,” Zach said.
The brothers hope to grow their business so that there is a Pizza House in every West County city.
“We believe that is very possible and will happen,” Zach said.
Vivian Smith, who works in Pinole had lunch at Pinole Pizza House, said she was glad to see the new business open in a convenient location.
“They are the only family-owned pizza business here in town,” she said, adding, “I am glad they are not a corporate pizza chain.”
Pinole House Pizza is located at The Del Monte Shopping Center, 620 Suite A, Pinole. The business is open seven days per week, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
