A fire damaged the rear of a home and multiple nearby vehicles in the 200 block of S. 16th Street in Richmond on Friday night, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union representing city firefighters.
Firefighters responded around 5 p.m. to the scene and found significant flames in the back of the split-level home. Hoselines were put in place and a vertical ventilation was performed on the fire, bringing it under control within 20 minutes.
The rear portion of the home sustained significant fire damage, Local 188 reported.
The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
