The “Seeds to Harvest Mural Reveal Celebration” in Parchester will take place on Saturday, May 31 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Parchester Community Center in Richmond.
The long-evolving and vibrant Seeds to Harvest mural spans 88 panels of the sound barrier wall on Giant Road in Parchester Village, near the Parchester Community Center. It first received its funding in late 2022.
During the Mural Reveal Celebration, movie theatre-themed food will be served and Tia Carroll will provide entertainment. Also part of the mix will be the premiere of a mural documentary that provides a special “behind-the-scenes look at the mural-making journey,” according to organizers.

The Mural Reveal Celebration is hosted in partnership with Neighbor-to-Neighbor, a program of California Volunteers, Governor’s Office of Service and Community Engagement.
The event marks the culmination of one of Richmond’s largest community murals in history, brought forth through the volunteer power of more than 500 community members during Community Paint Days and a collaboration between lead artist Richard Muro Salazar, assistant lead artist John Wehrle (currently exhibiting at the Richmond Art Center until June 14), Parchester Village Neighborhood Council, Richmond Arts and Culture Commission, Meritage Homes and Richmond Love Your Block.
Parchester Community Center is located at 900 Williams Drive in Richmond. Let them know you’re coming by signing up for the free event here.
