“Mira Vista Lights,” a gala hosted by Mira Vista Elementary’s PTA, will raise key funds for it on March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley. All (21+) are welcome to attend.
“This event aims to raise essential funds to support our school’s various programs and initiatives, which directly benefit our students and the broader school community,” said Kelley Johnson, mother of a first grader at the K-8 public school in Richmond.
Heavy appetizers and drinks, live music, dancing, a raffle and auction will be afoot, as will a chance to win a Joshua Tree Airbnb, Giants and Warriors tickets, food and wine experiences, summer camps, local artisan crafts and more.
Mira Vista Elementary is among the top 5 percent of the most diverse schools in the nation and is designated as a Title 1 school with 58 percent of its families qualifying for free/reduced lunch, according to Johnson. She said the school’s PTA is committed to ensuring all students have equal access to enrichment and educational experiences, with it funding art and music programming, garden and nutrition education, social emotional wellness initiatives, teacher grants and field trips.
Tickets to Mira Vista Lights are sliding scale, with purchasers selecting the price point that fits best in a range from $15-$30 for non-teachers or staff members, who can attend free of charge. Note the option at the end of the ticket list to also purchase raffle tickets when buying gala tickets.
