A 48-year-old man was fatally shot in Richmond Wednesday. The suspect in the murder was arrested in Hercules about 30 hours after the incident, according to police.
At 8:49 a.m., police responded to the 2900 block of Gomer Drive in the Fairmede-Hilltop neighborhood and discovered Richmond resident Charles Harvey with a gunshot wound.
Harvey was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Richmond homicide detectives worked around the clock to gather information and evidence, according to Richmond police spokesperson Lt. Donald Patchin. Thirty hours later, search warrants were executed, and a suspect was arrested in Hercules on Thursday, Lt. Patchin said.
The suspect’s identity or the motive for the homicide wasn’t immediately available.
