San Pablo EDC to host IRS virtual hiring fair

The San Pablo EDC is hosting a Virtual Hiring Fair on Wednesday Jan. 24 from 2-3 p.m. with the Internal Revenue Service or IRS.

Register ahead of time for this Zoom hiring event by clicking the link below and following the registration instructions.

The IRS is a branch of the federal government, offering excellent starting pay and outstanding benefits, as well as an entry into the federal government’s salary and career advancement structure, according to San Pablo EDC.  Federal benefits include generous paid vacation allowances, extensive healthcare coverage, pension and retirement benefits with an employer match, life insurance, and more.  The IRS has an office conveniently located right in downtown Oakland, easily accessible by BART, bus, and other transit.  Additionally, positions with the IRS frequently offer potential remote work and flexible schedules.

The IRS is currently hiring for Case Processors (starting salary $42,022), Tax Specialists (salary range $37,696-$69,107), Career Field Administrators ($84,546), Appraisers ($82,830), HR Specialists ($82,830), Program Analysts ($84,546) and many more positions.  Administrative, accounting, human resources, and other skillsets are needed by the IRS; and they have entry-level as well as more advanced positions available.  The IRS wants to hire members of the local community, and they promote from within to advance their employees.

You can register for the event at this link; then connect via Zoom at 2 pm on Wednesday January 25th:

Representatives from the IRS will briefly introduce their agency and speak about their open positions, and job seekers will have the opportunity to submit questions via the event’s online chat, which will be given to the agency representatives by EDC Staff.  Hearing directly from employers at hiring events, whether virtual or in-person, is a great way to network with companies that are looking to hire, and to find out more about how to apply and be considered for open positions.
