Richmond Firefighters Local 188 recently gave a shout-out to Daniel Menjivar on Facebook, a now Richmond High School graduate who is also reportedly a successful member of the Richmond Fire Youth Academy.

“Now that he is a high school graduate, Daniel will be starting the next chapter in life as he has enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. to serve a five year contract,” stated the firefighters in the social media post earlier this month.

According to the firefighters, once Menjivar completes his time in the Marines, his goal is to pursue a career in fire service, “where hopefully he will be able to serve the citizens of Richmond in the near future.”

In their post, the firefighters sent Menjivar their greatest well wishes. “Congratulations on your accomplishment and best of luck on your next adventure in life. Know that Richmond firefighters and the entire Richmond community couldn’t be more proud of you.”
