Triangle Works, a community group dedicated to the vitalization of El Sobrante and Richmond, is partnering with the nonprofit, Colors for Kids, for a “Community Mural Painting” over the weekend of June 24-25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community members of all ages are invited to participate.
The mural painting will take place on the wall at Appian Way and Fran Way in El Sobrante. Local artist Hayley Ferreira with Colors for Kids will collaborate on the project. “Have fun with neighbors as we make art and celebrate with music and food,” stated Triangle Works on the Keep El Sobrante Clean and Beautiful website regarding the event.
The project partners said the mural design is inspired by plants and animals that live in El Sobrante and Richmond, adding, “We hope you enjoy transforming a blank wall into a work of art that will bring color and joy to our neighborhood. It will put a smile on your face every time you see it!”
The mural project is supported by Planting Justice and the El Sobrante Chamber of Commerce and a portion of the supplies for the mural were donated by Colors for Kids, per the event partners. Colors for Kids “connects youth to the power of art through mural painting,” per the event page.
