Contra Costa County Library is once again offering free public transit rides for residents headed to select Bay Area attractions through October, while supplies last.

It’s part of the Discover & Go program provided by the Library that offers free and low-cost passes for museums, science centers, zoos, theatres, and other cultural. In addition to that deal, the Library in partnership with 511 Contra Costa is offering to mail Clipper cards to residents so they can travel to the Discover & Go attraction via public transit for free. The promotion aims to encourage the use of public transportation to visit museums.

To sign-up for Clipper cards, view your June – October reservation on your Discover & Go account. Click the “Print/Download” button, then click on the “Free transit passes” banner on your Discover & Go pass to request your Clipper cards. The banner will look like this:

Clipper cards will be mailed about five business days prior to a cardholders’ museum visit. The offer is limited to one request per household (for up to two $20 Clipper cards).

“Discover & Go was created to make enjoying museums and cultural destinations more accessible and affordable for everyone,” said County Librarian Alison McKee. “Thanks to this important partnership with 511 Contra Costa, getting there is now more affordable too.”
