Twelve people were displaced by a fire at a home in Richmond’s Parchester Village neighborhood on Friday night, according to Richmond Firefighters Local 188, the union representing Richmond firefighters.
Just before 10:30 p.m., a Richmond fire crew responded to the home in the 4100 block of McGlothen Way and found an exterior fire at the rear of the residence. The fire was quickly spreading into the attic and first floor of the home, fire officials said. With help from additional crews, the fire was under control in 20 minutes.
No injuries were reported, but the home suffered extensive fire damage, officials said.
The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately available.
