Richmond police are investigating a shooting that injured a woman early Friday near the Richmond BART Station.
At 1:09 a.m., police responded to the intersection of 16th Street and Macdonald Avenue on a report of a shooting, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle said.
A woman walking in the area reported she was approached by a man who asked her to accompany him underneath the nearby BART overpass, Walle said.
“The woman refused to go with the suspect and after a brief argument the man shot the woman in the leg,” the police captain said.
No arrests have been announced. At the time of the crime, the suspect was reportedly riding a light-blue mountain bike and was wearing a hood or hat over his head and dark loose clothing.
