A man found fatally shot in a Richmond home early Thursday has been identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office as 39-year-old Bruce Allen of San Pablo.

Officers responded to the 500 block of 18th Street just before 3:30 a.m. on April 22 and found Allen unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Richmond police Lt. Matthew Stonebraker. Despite attempts by paramedics to revive him, Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Monday, police were actively investigating the shooting and had no updates on a motive or information on a suspect. Asked if the victim lived in the home where he died, Stonebraker said it was not his primary residence.
