Earlier Tuesday, traffic officers from around Contra Costa County joined Richmond police officers for a traffic enforcement operation in Richmond.
Eleven officers fanned out throughout the city, targeting collision hotspots and areas with a high number of complaints to combat speeders and traffic violators, police said.
“Officers issued 85 citations in total, hopefully reminding some who travel on our city streets that we take traffic violations seriously,” police said.
