The California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in investigation into a fatal crash on westbound I-80 in El Cerrito on Monday that claimed the life of an 81-year-old woman.
CHP officers responded to a rollover crash involving two vehicles on the highway at Potrero Avenue at about 6:11 p.m., according to the CHP.
A black Fiat and white Mercedes-Benz were involved. The front passenger of the Fiat died at the scene. The Contra Costa County coroner’s office identified her as Ragna Roksvag-Zanger, 81, of San Francisco. The drivers of both involved vehicles were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.
Further details about the crash weren’t immediately available.
“The crash remains under investigation and the CHP Oakland Area is seeking the public’s assistance,” the CHP stated in posts on social media. “Any information, no matter how small, could be vital to the investigation.
