Local seniors “did their best” to teach Chief Brian Bubar and Capt. James Laughter how to dance at the San Pablo Senior Center Monday afternoon. Sounds like it didn’t go so well.

“Thank you for trying,” the department noted in a follow-up video post on social media. “But we’ll leave the dancing to the pros.”

In all seriousness, the dance-off was a complete success. One of the main purposes for the San Pablo Police Department’s visit to the senior center was to raise awareness that there is music and dancing at the San Pablo Senior Center every Monday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Officers are encouraging seniors in the community come enjoy the fun, and to tap other great activities and services at the center located on Church Lane near San Pablo Avenue.

The center offers recreational and educational activities, special events and services focused on nutritional, transportation and social needs.
