The San Pablo Police Department developed new leads into the June 12 killing of Shawn Anthony Tillis after reaching out to the community for help in the case last week.

Tillis, 27, of Antioch, was fatally shot at Rumrill Gardens Apartments at 1300 Rumrill Blvd. at about 2:51 a.m. on June 12.

On Wednesday, Sept 16, SPPD released a sketch of a suspect, along with a grainy image of a suspect vehicle believed to be involved in the case. It was enough to draw multiple replies from the community that helped police develop new leads in the case. Now, sketches of multiple suspects, along with clear images of the suspect vehicle, have been released.

“We believe the suspects and suspect vehicle are from Oakland,” San Pablo police Capt. Brian Bubar said. “The suspect vehicle is a black 2015 Volkswagen Passat equipped with license plates stolen from another vehicle.”

Those who recognize the suspects, suspect vehicle or have any information about the case are encouraged to call the SPPD Investigations Division Tip Hotline at (510) 215-3255. All calls can remain anonymous.
