On Friday, 16 couples will marry amid the stunning panoramic views at the Summit of Mount Diablo.

The Contra Costa Clerk-Recorder’s Office is partnering again with the California Department of State Parks to host the “Destination Weddings.” The ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. All ceremonies have been booked for this popular event and no unscheduled ceremonies will be accommodated.

“It’s a privilege to be part of such joyous occasions and to provide couples with a one-of-a-kind setting for their special day.”

The Clerk-Recorder hosts Destination Weddings in other scenic locations, and also Scaremonies during Halloween. It’s part of ongoing efforts “to offer unique, memorable, and affordable experiences for couples tying the knot,” officials said.

A marriage license must be obtained prior to the ceremony at the County Clerk-Recorder’s office in Martinez. The fee for a public marriage license is $86, while a confidential license is $90. The civil marriage ceremony fee is $60.

For information about marriage license and ceremony services, go to www.contracostavote.gov or call the office at 925-335-7900 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 pm.
