A teacher at Stewart Elementary in Pinole who earned the honor of 49ers Teacher of the Game last fall was recently celebrated at the 49ers Foundation Golden Gateway Weekend in Monterey, presented by Chevron.

Esmeralda Martin-Singh is a kindergarten Dual Language Immersion (DLI) teacher at Stewart Elementary, according to the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD).

“She worked with the 49ers Foundation to plan a study trip for Stewart students,” the school district said.

In November, the 11-year teacher was named a Teacher of the Game during the week in which the 49ers played the Arizona Cardinals.

At the Golden Gateway event the weekend before last, Martin-Singh shared and presented about her experience working with 49ers EDU, a partnership between the 49ers and Chevron to excite children about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) via the game of football and Levi’s Stadium.

The Golden Gateway event hosted players, coaches, alumni, executives, sponsors and individual supporters to raise $2 million for Bay Area youth, according to the 49ers Foundation.
