Najee Harris, running back for the Los Angeles Chargers and former resident of the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program (GRIP) family shelter, donated 50 turkeys to support this year’s Thanksgiving meal at the shelter’s dining hall, according to GRIP.

Harris and his family stayed at the GRIP shelter years ago while he was in middle school. Over the years, he has maintained a connection to the organization, returning for visits and supporting facility upgrades.

This year’s Thanksgiving event will offer both lunch and dinner in GRIP’s dining hall, with Hilltop Community Church hosting the event and providing volunteers and a festive environment.
