Richmond police recently tracked down three people captured on video participating in sideshows days to weeks after their alleged participation. And it didn’t matter that the individuals weren’t all seen doing donuts or other driving tricks in the street. The Richmond Police Department still impounded their vehicles for 30 days.
In a video posted to social media this week, the RPD added an important note of caution to sideshow participants who “aid and abet” in sideshow activity.
“Your vehicle can be seized by law enforcement if you participate in a sideshow by blocking the road (with your vehicle or body), interfering with responding officers, or helping/or encouraging the sideshow participants,” the RPD stated in the video post. “Just ask these three participants, whose car are in car jail for 30 days! We found them days to weeks after their participation. Three down and a few more to go…”
