Chevron y Ceres organizarán el próximo foro comunitario sobre seguridad y calidad del aire el 22 de octubre.
CoBiz Richmond, 1503 Macdonald Ave., Richmond.

Community members are encouraged to attend a town hall at CoBiz Richmond this Wednesday that will detail actions Chevron is taking to minimize flaring and improve environmental compliance.

The town hall, which will be hosted by Ceres Policy Research, will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at CoBiz, located at 1503 Macdonald Ave. in Richmond. Community members can register here to attend the free event.

This will be an opportunity for residents, local leaders and environmental advocates to assemble and provide feedback on the Community Action Plan (CAP). The CAP was developed in response to Chevron’s settlement with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) in February 2024, and will help shape how Chevron shares information with the community in the future.

During the town hall, Chevron representatives will present on the company’s progress toward reducing flaring, as well as on air quality compliance and transparency. The CAP Planning Committee will then lead a Draft CAP Plan Overview. There will also be breakout discussions focusing on key aspects of the CAP, followed by a public comment period where feedback and concerns can be shared with Chevron and the CAP team.

This meeting is part of a broader effort to gather community consensus on the CAP and improve communication and transparency with Chevron.
