Two people died and two others were injured in a shooting in Richmond late Tuesday afternoon, police said.
At about 4:15 p.m., Richmond Police Department dispatch responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of a person shot in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, according to Richmond police Lt. Donald Patchin.
Officers responded and located at least one victim suffering from fatal wounds at the scene. Three additional victims either self-transported or were transported by ambulance to local trauma centers, Patchin said.
“One of those victims unfortunately succumbed to their wounds,” he said.
RPD homicide detectives are currently on the crime scene investigating. No arrests have been made, and no further information was immediately available.
