Starting Friday, the daylong farmers market at Richmond Civic Center will have a new location.
The Richmond Farmers Market has moved from its previous location in the parking lot at 24th Street and Barrett Avenue to the front of the Richmond Mail Library, 325 Civic Center Plaza.
The new location was described as more central and a way to attract visitors to the library.
The farmers market will operate every Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This Friday’s kickoff event will feature fresh produce, music and activities for the whole family.
The Civic Center farmers market has been serving residents for more than 40 years. It is operated by the Richmond Certified Farmers Market Association, which also runs a recently-launched market in the city’s Marina Bay neighborhood. The Marina Bay market operates Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
