The Richmond Art Center (RAC) is calling to the community to “celebrate light and new beginnings through art-making” at its free Spring Family Day Saturday, April 27 from noon to 3 p.m.

Community attendees can expect to make spring equinox affirmation cards with artist Shani Ealey, print from the sun exploring cyanotype processes with Vivianna Carlos, lanterns with Julia La Chica and a community mural led by Maggie Burns.

Inside the art center, a jumbo interactive coloring-in wall by Eli Africa is a facet of the WCCUSD Student Art Show and offers more opportunities to get creative. Urban Tilth will also be on hand to fill everyone in on opportunities afoot.

Adding to the springtime celebration will be sliders served up by Artisan Kitchen and live music performed by Jazz and Soul.

RSVPs are not needed—just show up. The RAC is located at 2540 Barrett Ave. in Richmond. Learn more about Spring Family Day.
