Volunteers will help clean up coastal areas at two dozen Contra Costa County locations for Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept. 23, according to The Watershed Project.

One of the locations will be at Shimada Friendship Park in Richmond from 9 a.m. till noon Saturday. This event is co-hosted by Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia in partnership with The Watershed Project and City of Richmond. Along with working to clean up the coastal area, “we will have contests and raffle prizes, a light breakfast, and a free healthy lunch,” Gioia said.Â
