A pop-up farmers market is coming to the North Richmond community this month, propelled by a partnership between The Black Neighborhood and several other entities. The organization’s partners include the Family Justice Center, Fresh Approach, Urban Tilth, McGlothen Temple and the White Pony Express.

The farmers market will take place Sat., April 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1443 Fred Jackson Way, Richmond. Bring your recyclable bags.

Organizers invite the community to “come out and get some produce,” noting that there will be a giveaway of “jackets and food boxes as well” and that people also will have the opportunity to receive items from some of their partners. They said that they believe that having access to healthy food options “is key to maintaining stability.”
