The City of Richmond, Environmental and Health Initiatives Division and the Richmond Housing Authority are inviting community members to the Nystrom Village Earth Day Beautification event on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The volunteer event will take place at 250 S.13th Street (Nystrom Village parking lot), and activities will include litter pick-up, painting and weed maintenance around Nystrom Village. Simply show up at the event or sign up to volunteer before April 21. Free street parking is available.

Volunteers will receive hot lunch, snacks, gloves, as well as masks on a first come, first serve basis. Tools for all event activities will be provided. All volunteers must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty. Afterwards, come join the Earth Day Community Celebration nearby at Unity Park from noon to 1 p.m., which will include an Aztec Performance, the Richmond High School Band, delicious local food trucks, and a petting zoo.

RSVP to volunteer for the event via Signup Genius here. For more information or questions, contact Sabrina Paras, [email protected], or call Samantha Carr (510) 620-5407.
