Richmond police are investigating a fatal hit and run that occurred in the area of Carlson Avenue and Cutting Boulevard on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Officers responded to the area on a reports of a pedestrian being struck and located the victim, who was suffering from fatal injuries, police said. The victim died at the scene.
Officers learned the vehicle involved was traveling on Cutting Boulevard at a high rate of speed when striking the victim who was crossing the street.
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office is withholding the victim’s identity until after next of kin is notified.
The incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been announced.
