“The Practice Space Book Party” is coming to downtown Richmond Fri., Feb. 3 from 4-7 p.m. at CoBiz Richmond as the local nonprofit celebrates the release of its new book, “Amplify Student Voices.”
Organizers call the free event “family friendly and fun,” with a chance to meet authors AnnMarie Baines, Caitlin Healy and Diana Medina, and to also hear readings from some of the book’s student contributors. The cover of “Amplify Student Voices” indicates its content: “Equitable practices to build confidence in the classroom.”
The book will be on sale at the soiree—with authors on hand to sign it—and “activities, crafts and a nacho bar” will be available. An “Educator Appreciation Hour” will also take place during the event from 4-5 p.m.
Led by women of color, The Practice Space is an Iron Triangle nonprofit that helps Bay Area youth and adults “speak in a clear, engaging way that represents who they are and what they care about,” according to its website. Learn more about the nonprofit here.
