The former Civic Center Motel at 425 24th St., located across from Richmond Memorial Auditorium, is converting into a Motel 6 Richmond Civic Center and is partially open.
Owner Rocky Patel told the Standard the conversion to the new Motel 6 brand started a few weeks ago. The total conversation of the motel is scheduled to be completed in six months, Patel said.
The 2-star Motel 6 Richmond Civic Center offers free WiFi in all rooms, free private parking and a 24-hour front desk, according to city officials. “Guests can have a drink at the snack bar, along with several other amenities,” they added.
“Partnering with a nationally-known motel brand, like Motel 6, is so exciting,” Patel said. “They have expertise in good quality-control in running motel and hotel operations.”
