Contra Costa College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Science Center on Thursday, May 5.
The $72 million, state-of-the-art Science Center features a 55-seat planetarium, a stargazing observation deck and three floors with dedicated laboratories, classrooms and offices, according to CCC. The building “will connect the astronomy, engineering, physics, chemistry and biology departments,” the Contra Costa College Foundation said.
The primarily bond-funded project is considered an investment in amplifying student connections to STEM education and careers.
