Volunteers invited to ‘Peace, Love & Unity Community Cleanup’ Saturday

By Kathy Chouteau

Greenway neighbors can get in on some “Peace, Love & Unity” at Unity Park in Richmond when Urban Tilth, Rich City Rides and Moving Forward host a “Community Cleanup” Sat., March 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Volunteers will help with “cleaning, weeding, landscaping and beautifications projects,” per organizers, while Greenway neighbors can also take advantage of a concurrent Neighborhood Dumpster Day, where they can dispose of their trash free of charge.

“Come socialize and beautify our beloved Greenway and park,” said organizers, who suggest that volunteers bring gloves, masks, sunblock and lots of water.

The cleanup event is funded by a Love Your Block Mini-Grant from the City of Richmond City Manager’s Office, Economic Development and Community Services Department.
