Mitzi Perez-Caro, Kennedy High School’s Digital Arts and Web Design teacher, has launched a GoFundMe to help the Class of 2022 host their prom and grad night.
According to Perez-Caro, the pandemic has been an obstacle to the typical fundraising opportunities pursued by the students.
“There is a lot of discussion about distance learning and learning loss. Not many people discuss the social loss that occurred that year. There were clubs and organizations over Zoom, but it was difficult to join these after Zoom fatigue,” noted the teacher on the GoFundMe page.
The fundraising effort has set a goal of $25,000 toward the class’ prom and grad night; as of this writing $875 has been raised. Click here to contribute.
