Youth in the Richmond Police Activities League (RPAL) continued an annual tradition of shopping with a cop on Tuesday.

RPAL youth were provided with lunch, a police escort to Walmart at Hilltop Mall, and a $100 gift card donated by the officers, according to RPD.

Richmond Interim Police Chief Louie Tirona “kicked off the festivities with a thank you to the youth for doing well all year,” the RPD said.

The RPD thanked Pandora Turnera and Larry Lewis from the RPAL Team, Walmart Management, the Richmond Police Officers Association, the Richmond Police Management Association and the Guardians of Justice for making the Shop With a Cop possible, along with the Richmond Kiwanis Club, who volunteered to be Santa’s elves.
