“Community, unity, music and good food” will be the name of the game Sat., Aug. 14 when Richmond nonprofit House of Loving Hands hosts its “Unity Community BBQ” and gives out 300 free lunches.
The lunches, consisting of Everett & Jones’ BBQ ribs, links and chicken, will be offered from 12-3 p.m. (or until they run out) on a first come, first served basis at the back of 137 Park Place in Point Richmond.
“If you would like to sponsor a meal for this project, you can donate through Cash App $HOLH2018, or through Venmo @HOLH2018. Remember: YOU’RE NOT ALONE! I AM MY SISTER’S KEEPER,” stated House of Loving Hands regarding the event. In terms of sponsoring meals, ribs are $11.40, links are $10.40 and chicken meals are $9.40, per the organization.
Founded by Deneshia Clemons and per its website, House of Loving Hands’ mission is to establish a safe haven for abused women and their children via counseling, therapy, group sessions, job training, love and support to help their clients get back on their feet. Learn more here.
