BNSF emergency repairs on the railroad tracks on Canal Boulevard about 170 feet south of West Cutting Boulevard will cause partial lane closures today and Sunday and a full closure of lanes near the tracks on Saturday, city officials said.

For Saturday, the closure will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a detour through the Dornan Tunnel.

For the partial closure, lanes will be closed in the vicinity of the tracks being repaired, with one travel of lane in each direction open. Delays are anticipated.

“No vehicles hauling hazardous materials will be allowed to detour through the Dornan Tunnel,” the city said. “Local residents may wish to avoid Canal Blvd during construction.”
