If you’ve got the backyard, they’ve got the beer, according to Richmond’s East Brother Beer Co., which has unveiled two new summer releases, the Pre-Prohibition Lager and Double IPA.
“So whether you spend your summer next to a grill, lost in the wilderness or floating down a river, these are the best beers to drink this summer,” said brewery co-owner Rob Lightner.
The Pre-Prohibition Lager is light in color, 5.5 percent ABV and East Brother Beer’s take on the quintessential American lager, per Lightner, who added that it “truly shines when paired with anything that’s grilled.”
Lightner said East Brother’s second summer release, the Double IPA, is a West Coast-style brew “bursting with tropical notes of papaya, mango and pineapple” and an 8.8 percent ABV. Part of the craft brewery’s Freighter Series, the IPA “transitions perfectly from poolside to dinner table,” he said “and can stand up to the boldest flavors, so go big and pair it with something smothered in BBQ sauce.”
East Brother’s new summer brews are available for purchase at major retailers including Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Safeway, Raley’s and Lucky, as well as other smaller markets and East Brother’s Taproom at 1001 Canal Blvd. in Richmond. Delivery is available via Drizly, GoPuff and Instacart.
