One person was shot in the head and another was shot in his lower extremity near the Shields-Reid Community Center in North Richmond Thursday afternoon, police said.
Police were called to the 1400 block of Kelsey Street at 1:38 p.m., where they located the victims along with multiple rifle and pistol casings at the scene. The victim who was shot in the head was airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition, while the other victim was transported to a hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, police said.
“Investigators are seeking additional witnesses who may have seen a white compact sedan (pictured in this video) in the area at the time of the incident,” police said.
