A woman showed up to the Kaiser Richmond hospital with a gunshot wound to her chin on Thursday, shortly after a shooting took place nearby, police said.

Just after 5 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 300 block of 4th Street, in the area of Nevin Park, after the Shotspotter gunshot detection system registered 15 rounds, Richmond police Capt. Al Walle said.

Soon after, the woman arrived with her gunshot injury at Kaiser. She was transported to a trauma center in stable condition, Walle said.

The incident remains under investigation. Further details weren’t immediately known.
