FlixBus is resuming its long-distance bus service in the U.S., including its Richmond stop.
Starting Friday, Richmond residents will be able to board its green buses at the Richmond BART Station after services were suspended on March 22 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the time of this writing Tuesday, a one-way FlixBus trip to San Jose costs this Friday costs $5, while a one-way to San Diego on Friday is $34.99. On July 3, a one-way to Las Vegas is going for $69.98.
“We’re resuming service with a limited number of cities and buses, and we’re doing our best to safely add more in the next few weeks,” the company announced today. “Richmond residents will have the option to travel to New York City, Boston, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia.”
The reopening of service will come with new safety-related changes. Buses will be disinfected after each trip, with a focus on high-touch surfaces. Drivers and passengers must wear face coverings, front row seats are not for sale to ensure social distancing from the driver, and a digital passenger check-in will provide a touch-less boarding experience.
