Good news for Richmond coffee enthusiasts. Kaleidoscope Coffee, located at 109 Park Place in Point Richmond, is vastly increasing its hours after being primarily closed for the past few weeks, per owner Cassie Cushing.
Starting Tuesday, May 12, Kaleidoscope will be open for walk-up service Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and then 1-5 p.m. (they’re closed for lunch from 12-1 p.m.). The coffee shop is also open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. but is closed on Sunday and Monday.
Cushing noted that online orders can be picked up anytime during Kaleidoscope’s open hours.
“We’re really excited to see y’all and start making tasty lattes and cappuccinos…Thank you all for your patience and support,” stated Cushing in Kaleidoscope’s newsletter.

“To avoid bottlenecks and maintain social distancing, we’re moving things around, so that we can take your orders right in the entry way,” she added. The coffee shop’s game plan is to mainly serve drinks, ice cream and pastries at this time.
According to Cushing, Kaleidoscope will have two lines available for customers, one down the sidewalk that will be for taking orders, and another line in the opposing direction for those awaiting their orders.
“Given the extra constraints and precautions of these times, things might take a little longer, but we’re gonna keep an eye on efficiency where we can without sacrificing safety,” stated Cushing.
