Orientation for free HazWOPER 40 training in San Pablo on Sept. 25

Job seekers are encouraged to attend an orientation for free HazWOPER 40 training on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m.

The orientation will take place at the San Pablo EDC’s office at 13830 San Pablo Ave, Suite D, in the Adobe Plaza shopping center at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and Church Lane.

You will learn all about the free HazWOPER 40 class that San Pablo EDC will host  from Sept. 30-Oct. 4, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in the community room of the San Pablo Library.

HazWOPER 40 training enables graduates to obtain a professional certificate and to earn excellent wages (starting typically at $20-$25/hour) in a high-demand field.  Both general construction workers and management benefit from HazWOPER 40 training, including new hazardous waste and emergency response workers, hazardous materials technicians, hazardous materials specialists, and on-scene incident commanders.

The course will be taught by the Northern California Teamsters Apprentice Training and Education Trust Fund (NCTAT).  Employers looking to hire HazWOPER 40 graduates will visit the course during the week of training, and will look to connect with graduates once they have earned their certifications.
