Dozens of community block parties were held Tuesday evening throughout West Contra Costa County to celebrate National Night Out.
The annual event aims to form bonds between law enforcement and neighbors aimed at crime prevention.
In Richmond, the National Night Out kicked off in the parking lot of Target at 4500 Macdonald Ave., and was then followed by a police and fire caravan to National Night Out block parties throughout the community. An end party was held at Veterans Memorial Hall.
