What’s it like being a black man in today’s society?
That’ll be the topic du jour during a discussion featuring prominent African American men at the House of Blends Barber Shop at 1556 Fitzgerald Dr. in Pinole on Friday, June 14.
William Tate Jr. will facilitate a discussion with Richmond City Councilmember Demnlus Johnson III and artist/entrepreneur Dameion King for this public event starting at 6:30 p.m.
The event is being hosted by Contesa Tate, House of Blends, Jayna Davis and Boo Billions.
“We need to heal ourselves by empowering ourselves,” organizer Contesa Tate said. “This event is in line with that effort to find community and find healing for our wounds and guard ourselves from future assault to our character, our finances, and our wellbeing.”
