Richmond police are investigating three shootings that occurred within 90 minutes late Sunday night.

Just after 10 p.m., police were called to the 2500 hundred block of Esmond Avenue near Wendell Park where two people were injured in a shooting.
A woman reported that she was seated inside a van with a male companion when a man demanded their money at gunpoint, police Capt. Al Walle reported. “When the female said she didn’t have any money the suspect shot both victims,” he said.
The woman was transported to the hospital in stable condition and the male victim was airlifted to a trauma center in critical condition, Walle said.
And at 10:36 p.m. at 1st Street and Nevin Avenue, officers responded to 1st Street and Nevin Avenue where a male victim was found with a gunshot wound to his right foot. His injuries were not life threatening, Stonebraker said.
“We have no evidence at this time that connects the shootings,” Stonebraker said.
